Our story
A small, local dog-walking service built on trust, proper exercise and a real love of the outdoors.
Lakes Dog Walking started for the simplest reason imaginable: a love of dogs and a love of the South Lakes.
Born and raised in Cumbria, I grew up walking these fells, woods and lakeshores, and I've never found a better way to spend a day. Turning that into a proper, professional dog-walking service means local owners get someone who genuinely knows the area, knows dogs, and treats every one like family.
I keep things small on purpose. Packs are limited to four dogs, carefully matched by size and temperament, so walks stay calm, safe and sociable. Every dog gets real countryside exercise — not a lap of the block — and comes home tired, muddy and content. You'll get GPS-tracked routes and photo updates after every walk, so you always know exactly how your dog's day went.
Reliability matters just as much as adventure. I'm fully insured, DBS-checked and canine first-aid trained, and I handle keys securely so there's a familiar, trusted face at your door every time. It's a service I'd be happy to leave my own dog with — and that's the standard I hold every walk to.
I cover Kendal, Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside, Staveley and the surrounding South Lakeland villages. If you're nearby and not sure whether you're in range, just ask.
